Understanding Settling Point Theory and How to Change Your Body’s Set Weight

Ever feel like your weight won’t budge no matter what you do? Is it a plateau or something else?

Spoiler alert: your body isn’t stuck—it’s simply found a comfort zone where it feels at ease.

This is where the Settling Point Theory comes in, explaining how your environment, lifestyle, and even genetics play a role in determining the weight your body “settles” at. Unlike the traditional Set Point Theory, which suggests your body defends a specific weight, the Settling Point Theory views your weight as more fluid, responding to changes in your habits and surroundings.

Our bodies often settle at higher weights due to evolutionary factors, modern lifestyles, and those lingering “caveman” instincts that once helped us survive. With food so readily available and our activity levels generally lower, it’s no surprise that your body’s natural tendency is to store more energy. But you have more control over your weight than you might think.

And remember, the number on the scale isn’t the only indicator of success. Improvements in sleep, energy, mood, and other non-scale victories are all signs of progress worth celebrating. With small, steady changes, you can guide your body to a healthier, happier place, taking control of your health one step at a time.

Thanks for watching and always remember: small tweaks lead to massive peaks!

Switching from Wegovy to Zepbound: Can You Stack Weight Loss?

Switching from Wegovy to Zepbound doesn’t guarantee more weight loss. Wegovy targets GLP-1, while Zepbound works on both GLP-1 and GIP, which may offer additional benefits. But weight loss isn’t stackable—most people won’t lose more just by switching. I explain what to expect and who might benefit from the switch.

Is Your Heart Rate Too High on GLP-1s?

Noticing an increased heart rate on Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, or Zepbound? A small bump in heart rate is a common side effect—but is it something to worry about? Learn why GLP-1 medications affect heart rate, what’s happening in your body, and when to check in with your doctor.

GLP-1 Hyper-Responders

Weight loss on GLP-1 medications varies from person to person. Some experience rapid and significant changes, while others progress more steadily.
