What happens during my first visit?

During your first visit we review how the program works, what to expect, and our team also completes a brief initial assessment to determine if you are ready to start working towards your Best Weight. Your first initial 30-minute consultation is FREE.

How much does the program cost?

Our 6 month program costs vary from individual to individual. During your FREE initial 30-minute consultation, Dr. Dan will give you your personalized quote.

Is any component of the program covered by health benefits?

Unfortunately at this time our services are not covered by health benefits.

How do I sign up?

You can select a time that works best for you. After the initial consultation, if you are ready to start working towards your Best Weight, we can sign you up for the full program.

Can I still enjoy going out to restaurants and holiday dinners while on the program?

Absolutely! Achieving your Best Weight is not about restriction, deprivation, or avoiding special occasions because you are on a ‘diet’. It is about living the healthiest lifestyle you possible can, and that you honestly enjoy. Part of a healthy lifestyle is spending time with the people we love, which may involve going out to dinner on special occasions and partaking in holiday festivities!

How much weight can I expect to lose?

It is impossible to pre-determine how much weight an individual will have lost when they achieve their Best Weight. Everyone is different and what is one individual’s Best Weight will be different from another. In general, our initial goal is for you to lose 5-10% of your current body weight – we know that with this amount of weight-loss numerous health benefits can be conferred. At that point we will reset your weight-loss goal and continue to make changes that you enjoy and are able to sustain for the rest of your life – leading to your Best Weight.

How heavy do I need to be in order to enroll in the program?

There are no restrictions or targets you need to reach in order to be included in our program. You may not even have a weight issue but maybe you would like to live a healthier lifestyle. Best Weight is a lifestyle philosophy that can be applied to any individual who is wanting and ready to make changes that will lead to a healthier, better life. If you want to make lifelong lifestyle changes, the Health Evolved team is here to help you!

Do you use any meal replacement, or other diet products?

No, we do not use any kind of diet products, or meal replacement supplements. Our focus is on good quality food and proper nutrition.

What type of diet do you use?

We do not use any specific diet as there is no best diet! The science has shown time and time again that no particular diet is superior over another in weight-loss. The most important factor in weight-loss is sustainability. Whatever diet or changes you make in order to lose weight must be changes you enjoy and can continue with for the rest of your life in order to keep the weight off. Our team will work with you to find a strategy is most effective for you.

Does your program utilize injections for weight loss?

We do not utilize any B vitamin or HCG injections to help with weight-loss. Our approach is evidence-based and those types of injections have not been found to provide any kind of additional benefit in the weight-loss process.

Does your program involve hormones?

No, we do not use any kind of hormones such as HCG to promote weight-loss.

Do I have to do exercise as part of the program?

Yes! There is no drug, diet, or therapy that is more effective at improving your health than exercise. However, we do not like the word ‘exercise’. It implies a formal workout regimen or joining a gym, and we understand that is not something that everyone enjoys. Instead we focus on activity! Increased activity levels do play a role in weight-loss, but activity levels are more important for weight maintenance. Activity can involve working out at a gym, taking the stairs at work, parking farther away from your destination and walking in, or getting off the bus at an earlier stop than your usual stop. Simple things such as these can all be beneficial in increasing your daily activity levels.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No, you do not need a referral from your doctor, but we will communicate with your family physician to inform them that you have been enrolled in the program and on the progress you are making to ensure they are kept in the loop and can be a partner in supporting you in achieving your Best Weight!

What do I get with the program?

With the Best Weight Evolution program, you get an initial consult and monthly follow-ups with our Weight Management Specialist – Dr. Dan Burton. You will also receive weekly follow ups with our Weight Management Specialists, counselors and Health Evolved coaches. Read more about it here: https://healthevolved.co/the-program/

Do you work with pediatric clients?

Currently, we do not work with pediatric patients.

Do you refer clients for bariatric surgery?

We do not make client referrals to the bariatric clinic for consultation for bariatric surgery. Your family physician would need to arrange that. However, if you are considering bariatric surgery our team is well equipped to help support you during both the pre- and post-op process.
