Breaking Down the SURMOUNT-5 Trial: Zepbound vs. Wegovy for Weight Loss

Did you ever think the student would beat the teacher? Because in the SURMOUNT-5 trial, Tirzepatide (Zepbound) didn’t just match Semaglutide (Wegovy)—it outperformed it. We’re talking more weight loss, smaller waistlines, better tolerability, and clinical outcomes that have the obesity medicine world buzzing. 

This wasn’t just another pharma puff piece either—this was a superiority trial, meaning they put Zepbound head-to-head with Wegovy and asked the bold question: can it do better? 

Spoiler alert—it did.
