Did you know that around 70% of women experience weight gain during menopause, averaging about 1.5 pounds per year? Hormonal changes in estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone can lead to a number of issues – from how fat is distributed over the body, to causing fatigue, mood changes, and affecting one’s appetite.

In this video, I discuss the hormonal changes and factors contributing to this weight gain and explore whether drugs like Wegovy and Ozempic can help.

I share insights from a study on Semaglutide’s impact on weight loss in postmenopausal women with obesity, including the benefits of combining it with hormonal therapy.

While these medications show promise, I also cover the importance of a holistic approach, including proper nutrition and exercise, to preserve muscle mass and overall health during menopause.
